Waste Details Editor

Edit EWC codes and quantity on-site while a job is in progress.

When the editor appears

The Waste Details panel is shown on the Job Detail page whenever a job is In Progress. In view mode it shows the current EWC codes (if any) and the recorded quantity in kg. Tap the Edit button in the top-right corner to switch to edit mode.

Viewing waste details

In view mode, EWC codes are displayed as individual badges in a monospace font. Quantity is shown in kg. If no EWC codes have been set, "No EWC codes set" is shown. If no quantity is recorded, "Not set" is shown.

Editing waste details

In edit mode, two fields are presented. Tap Save to persist the changes or Cancel to discard them.

Saving and syncing

Tapping Save sends the updated EWC codes and quantity to the server and refreshes the job data. The Waste Details panel immediately returns to view mode showing the newly saved values. If the save fails, an error message is displayed and you remain in edit mode.

How values are parsed

The EWC codes text is split on newlines and commas, and each entry is trimmed of whitespace. Empty entries are discarded. Quantity is parsed as a floating-point number — entering a non-numeric value will show a validation error before any save attempt.

Update EWC codes before signing
The waste transfer note is generated from the collection record. Make sure EWC codes and quantity are correct before you capture signatures — once the note is signed it is part of the permanent compliance record.
Changes update the linked WTN automatically
When you save EWC codes or quantity, the linked waste transfer note is updated with the new values. There is no separate step to sync the note.
