WTN Sign Flow

Capture the transferor signature on-screen or request the transferee signature by email.

WTN Signatures panel

For standard (non-transfer-run) collections that are In Progress and have a linked waste transfer note, the WTN Signatures panel appears below the Waste Details editor. It shows the WTN reference and current note status, then offers two actions: Sign WTN and Request Signature by Email.

Note status values

The status badge uses four states: Draft (grey — note created but no signature yet), Awaiting Signature (amber — signature request sent, waiting for the other party), Signed (green — one party has signed), and Completed (green — fully signed and finalised).

Signing on-screen

Tapping Sign WTN opens a full-screen signature modal. The driver (transferor) signs using their finger or stylus, enters their printed name, and confirms. The signature is saved to the note as the transferor (b2) signature. On success the panel shows a green confirmation message.

Requesting signature by email

If the transferee is not present on-site, tap Request Signature by Email to expand the email request form. Enter the recipient's email address and optionally their name, then tap Send Request. QWTN sends an email with a secure link for the transferee to sign the note. On success the panel shows a confirmation message.

After signing

Once the on-screen signature is saved, the Sign WTN button is hidden and the success message is displayed. If a signature request was sent, the Request Signature button is hidden. The status badge updates to reflect the new note status.

Signatures are permanent
Once a signature is captured it is saved to the note and forms part of the legal waste transfer record. Make sure all waste details (EWC codes, quantity) are correct before signing.
Use email requests for unmanned transfer stations
If you are dropping waste at an unmanned site, use Request Signature by Email so the site contact can sign at their convenience. For transfer runs to manned sites, use the Transfer Run flow which is purpose-built for this scenario.
