Signing Notes via the Portal

How clients view and review waste transfer notes through the Client Portal.

Viewing a note

Clients open the Notes tab and click any note row to open the full detail view in a dialog. The dialog shows the complete note in a structured format matching the WMCA2 Waste Transfer Note form: Section A (waste description, EWC codes, containment, quantity), Section B (current holder / transferor details), Section C (transferee details), Section D (transfer address, date, time, broker details), and Signatures.

Note sections displayed

Each section is shown in a bordered card with a lettered header. Section A fields include: Description, EWC Codes, Containment (Loose, Drum, Bag/sack, Skip, Vehicle/trailer, Tank, RoRo, IBC, Other), and Quantity. Section B shows the transferor name, company and address, postcode, SIC code, authority/council, and status checkboxes (Producer, Importer, Local authority, Permit holder, Waste exemption, Carrier/broker/dealer). Section C shows the transferee equivalent. Section D shows transfer address, date, time, and broker/dealer details.

Signature status

If signatures have been captured, they appear in a Signatures section at the bottom of the note. Both the transferor and transferee panels show the signatory name, their signature image, who they represent, and the date they signed.

Note status badges

A badge at the top of the dialog shows the note status. Status values include Draft, Pending Signature, Signed, and Completed. The note type (One-Off or Season Ticket) and reference number are also shown. For season tickets, the valid-until date is displayed.

Client portal is read-only for notes
Clients can view all note data through the portal but cannot edit any fields. Signature capture by the client is performed by the driver on-site using the Driver App sign flow or via an email signature request link — not through the portal notes view.
Share the portal to reduce document requests
Many clients request copies of their WTNs for their own compliance records. Sending them a portal invite means they can retrieve their notes any time without emailing you, saving both parties time.
