Waste Summary Report

Group and filter completed notes by EWC code, client, site, or month.

What is the Waste Summary?

The Waste Summary aggregates your completed waste transfer notes and lets you pivot the data across four dimensions: EWC Code, Client, Site, and Month. For each group it shows the number of notes and total weight (kg or tonnes). It is ideal for internal review, EA audits, and preparing annual returns.

Set a date range and choose a Group By dimension, then click Refresh to reload. The report defaults to the last 30 days grouped by EWC Code.

Summary statistics

Above the table, three stat boxes show: Total Notes (count of completed notes in the period), Total Quantity (sum of all waste weights), and the count of unique values for the chosen Group By dimension — for example, "EWC Codes 4" when grouped by EWC Code.

Reading the table

Each row shows the group label (EWC code, client name, site name, or month), the number of notes in that group, and the total quantity. The table footer shows grand totals. Quantities are displayed in kg when under 1,000 kg or converted to tonnes with two decimal places above that threshold. A dash (—) indicates no weight was recorded for that group.

Downloading the report

Click Download CSV to export the current view. The file is named waste-summary-{group_by}-{from}-to-{to}.csv and contains the same rows as the on-screen table plus column headers.

Use Month grouping for trend analysis
Switch Group by to Month to see how your waste volumes change over time — useful for spotting seasonal patterns or growth in particular waste streams.
Quantities only appear if recorded on the note
If a note was completed without a quantity value, it contributes to the Notes count but shows a dash in the Quantity column. The total will still be accurate for notes that have quantities.
