Number your references consistently
Use a consistent format like SKIP-001, RORO-001 so your team can quickly identify container types from the reference alone. This also makes the exported CSV easier to sort and filter.
Reference is the only required field
You must provide a container reference to save the form. All other fields are optional, but the more detail you add the more useful the container list becomes for tracking and billing.
Common Mistakes
• Leaving the status as Available when adding a container that is already on site — set the status to On Site and fill in the current address so tracking is accurate from day one.
• Using the same reference for a replacement container when an old one is retired — archive or delete the old record first, then create a new one for the replacement.
• Not setting the Dropped Date when deploying a container — without this date, hire duration calculations from the export will be incorrect.
