2. Walkaround Checklist

Work through all 16 categories in sequence. Each item can be marked Pass, Fail, or N/A. Categories show a progress indicator and turn green when all items are marked. A category turns red if any item is failed.

3. Defect Reporting

When an item is marked Fail, a defect report is automatically prompted. Assign a severity to each defect. Non-Roadworthy defects will mark the overall walkaround as FAIL and prevent the vehicle from legally being driven.

Non-Roadworthy defects ground the vehicle
If any defect is marked Non-Roadworthy Defect, the walkaround result is set to FAIL - Non-Roadworthy. The vehicle must not be driven until the defect is repaired and a new walkaround passes.
Work category by category
Expand each checklist category, check every item, then collapse it before moving on. The progress counter shows how many items remain in each section so nothing gets missed.
All 16 categories in the checklist
The checklist covers: Tyres & Wheels, Lights & Electrics, Mirrors & Glass, Cab & Bodywork, Fluid Levels, Brakes, Load Security, Tachograph, Exhaust & Emissions, Windscreen & Wipers, Horn, Reflectors & Markers, Number Plates, Safety Equipment, Coupling Equipment, and Cab Interior.
Common Mistakes
Marking items N/A that do not apply instead of checking the actual item — only use N/A when the component is genuinely not fitted.
Forgetting to add a defect report after marking an item as Fail.
Not capturing a driver signature — unsigned walkarounds may not satisfy DVSA requirements.
Submitting a walkaround with items still unchecked — the Overall Result shows how many items remain.
