Map View

See all your sites and client locations on an interactive map with collection stats and filtering.

What the map shows

The Map page displays all of your sites and client locations as coloured pins on an interactive map. Sites appear as green pins. Client locations use a unique colour per client so you can visually distinguish which locations belong to which customer. The map defaults to a UK-wide view and can be zoomed and panned freely.

Pin details

Click any pin to open a popup with full details. For sites, the popup shows the site name, type (transfer station, treatment, landfill, recycling, or other), address, postcode, permit number, and operator name. For client locations, it shows the location label, address, postcode, and site contact details. Both types also display collection statistics: total collections, total weight, and the most recent collection date, status, and waste description.

Filtering pins

Use the filter pills at the top of the map to narrow what is displayed. The type filter lets you show all pins, only sites, or only client locations. The client filter is a multi-select dropdown that lets you choose specific clients whose locations you want to see. Combining both filters helps you focus on exactly the locations you need.

Map layers

Toggle between Street view and Satellite view using the layer button in the top-right corner of the map. Street view uses a clean light base map. Satellite view shows aerial imagery, which is useful for identifying site boundaries and access roads.

Your location

If you allow location access in your browser, the map shows your current position as a blue circle. Click the crosshair button to re-centre the map on your location. This is helpful when you are out on site and want to see nearby locations.

Legend

A legend in the bottom-left corner of the map shows which colour represents each entity. Green is always used for sites. Each client gets a distinct colour from a twelve-colour palette. If your browser location is enabled, a "You" indicator also appears in the legend.

Only locations with coordinates appear
A site or client location must have latitude and longitude set to appear on the map. If a location is missing from the map, edit it and use the map picker to set its coordinates.
Use satellite view for site visits
Switch to satellite view before visiting an unfamiliar site. The aerial imagery helps you identify access points, yard layouts, and where to position vehicles.
Common Mistakes
Expecting all clients to appear on the map — only client locations with coordinates set will show. Add coordinates via the location form map picker.
Not allowing browser location access — the "Your location" feature and re-centre button require location permissions in your browser.
