Notifications

Stay on top of signatures, payments, expiring permits, and overdue collections with in-app notifications.

How notifications work

QWTN sends you in-app notifications when important events happen — a client signs a note, an invoice is paid, a permit is about to expire, or a collection becomes overdue. Notifications appear in real time via the bell icon in the sidebar and are checked automatically every sixty seconds.

The notification bell

The bell icon sits in the sidebar. When you have unread notifications, a badge appears on the bell showing the count (capped at 99+). Click the bell to open the notification panel. On a collapsed sidebar, the bell shows as an icon with a small dot indicator when there are unread items.

Reading notifications

The notification panel lists your most recent fifty notifications in reverse chronological order. Unread notifications have a light background and a blue dot indicator. Click an unread notification to mark it as read. If the notification has a link — for example, a note awaiting signature — clicking it takes you directly to that page.

Notification types

Four notification types are supported, each with its own icon. "Signature received" appears when a client or counterparty signs one of your notes. "Invoice paid" confirms a payment has been recorded. "Permit expiring" warns you before a permit or licence expires. "Collection overdue" alerts you when a scheduled collection has passed without completion.

Notifications

Mark all as read

Click the "Mark all as read" button at the top of the notification panel to clear all unread indicators at once. This is useful when you have reviewed several notifications and want to reset the badge count to zero.

Timestamps

Each notification shows a relative timestamp: "just now" for the last minute, then minutes, hours, or days ago. Notifications older than thirty days show the full date instead.

Notifications are per-user
Each team member receives their own notifications. A signature received on a note you created will notify you, not every member of your team.
Check the bell after sending signature requests
After requesting a digital signature from a client, keep an eye on the bell icon. You will receive a notification as soon as the client signs, so you know the note is complete without having to check manually.
