Understanding the Dashboard

Stat cards, alerts, activity feed, and quick actions — everything you need at a glance.

Hero banner

The full-width hero at the top of the dashboard displays a contextual greeting (morning / afternoon / evening) and a live summary sentence. If there are notes awaiting signature or chain gaps requiring action, those counts appear here. Three quick-create buttons sit below the summary: "One-Off Note", "Season Ticket", and "From Template". In the top-right corner, search (Cmd+K), Help, and Settings icons are always accessible.

Stat cards

Six stat cards display real-time counts pulled from your account. Cards with live issues — "Awaiting Signature" and "Waste Held" — are highlighted in a contrasting border colour and show an animated pulse dot. A thin progress bar under the count shows the proportion relative to your total notes. The "Unpaid Invoices" card also shows the total outstanding value in pounds. The "Drivers" card is visible to account owners only.

Dashboard Alerts

Below the stat cards, a red-bordered alert strip appears whenever there are actionable issues. Each alert shows an icon, a plain-English message, and a "View" link. Three alert types are shown: open chain gaps (waste held with no follow-on transfer), deferred-party notes (notes waiting for an unknown party to be identified), and permits expiring within 30 days.

Activity feed

The left panel in the lower section shows your last 15 account events in reverse chronological order: notes created, completed, clients added, invoices sent, and more. Each item shows the event type, entity reference, and timestamp.

Clients panel

The right panel shows your four most recently added clients. Each row shows the client name, role, and carrier registration if set. Click any row to go to that client's detail page. "Add" opens the new client form; "Manage" goes to the full clients list.

Waste Held alerts require action
A non-zero "Waste Held" count means you have waste sitting in your custody without a follow-on transfer note. This is a Duty of Care compliance risk. Click the card or the chain gap alert to view affected notes.
Licence expiry card
The dashboard includes a Licence Expiry card that reads from your profile. Keep your carrier registration expiry date up to date in Settings so you see timely reminders.
Common Mistakes
Dismissing Dashboard Alerts without resolving them — open chain gaps and deferred-party notes create compliance risk.
Assuming "Awaiting Signature" notes are complete — notes need both signatures to be legally valid under the Duty of Care.
