Health & Safety Analytics

View incident trends, severity breakdowns, RAMS completion rates, and safety KPIs at a glance.

Analytics overview

The Health & Safety Analytics page provides a visual summary of your safety performance. It pulls data from your near miss reports, accident records, and RAMS documents to display key metrics, trend charts, and breakdowns. Use this page to spot patterns, track improvement, and prepare for safety reviews.

Stat cards

Six animated stat cards appear at the top of the page showing your key safety numbers. Each card displays a count with a label. Cards appear with a staggered animation so they are easy to scan from left to right.

H&S Analytics

Severity distribution

A horizontal bar chart shows how your near miss reports are distributed across severity levels: low, medium, high, and critical. Each bar is colour-coded — green for low, amber for medium, orange for high, and red for critical. This helps you see at a glance whether most incidents are minor or whether there is a pattern of higher-severity events that needs attention.

Category breakdown

A ranked list shows your top eight incident categories by count. This reveals which types of incidents occur most frequently — for example, slips and trips, manual handling, or working at height. Use this to prioritise targeted safety training or equipment improvements for the most common categories.

RAMS completion rate

A progress bar shows the percentage of RAMS that have been approved out of the total created. This gives you a quick view of how many risk assessments are complete versus still pending. A low completion rate may indicate that reviews are backing up or that documents are being created but not followed through.

Access restrictions

Accident data (Total Accidents and RIDDOR Reported cards) is only visible to users with senior safety officer or admin roles. Other team members can see near miss and RAMS metrics but not accident details. This ensures sensitive accident information is restricted to authorised personnel.

Use category data for toolbox talks
If the category breakdown shows a spike in a particular incident type, use that as the basis for your next toolbox talk or safety briefing. Addressing the most common categories first has the biggest impact on overall safety.
RIDDOR reporting obligations
The RIDDOR Reported count is based on your records in QWTN. You are still responsible for reporting qualifying incidents to the HSE within the required timeframes. QWTN helps you track which incidents are RIDDOR-reportable but does not submit reports on your behalf.
Common Mistakes
Not logging near misses — the analytics page is only useful if your team consistently records incidents. Encourage reporting so the data reflects reality.
Ignoring the severity distribution — a cluster of high or critical incidents is a warning sign that should trigger an immediate review, not just a note for the next meeting.
