Driver Assignment
Assign drivers to scheduled collections so jobs appear in their driver app and are correctly attributed.
How driver assignment works
When you create or edit a collection, the Assignment section includes a Driver field. Selecting a driver from the dropdown assigns that person to the job. The collection then appears in the driver's job list in the driver app, and they can access the waste details, address, and driver notes from their mobile device.
The Driver field
The Driver field is a dropdown populated from your active team members who have the Driver role.
Managing drivers in the Team module
Drivers must be added to your team before they can be assigned to collections. Go to the Team module, click Invite, set the role to Driver, and send the invitation. Once the driver accepts and logs in, they will appear in the Driver dropdown for all future collections.
What the driver sees
In the driver app, each assigned driver sees only their own jobs. The job detail shows the scheduled date and time, collection type (collection or transfer run), waste description, EWC codes, estimated quantity, collection address, and any driver notes you added. They can complete the job, edit EWC codes on-site, and trigger the sign flow to complete the waste transfer note.
Unassigned collections
If a collection is left Unassigned, it will not appear in any driver's app. The collection still appears on the Schedule page for management purposes, but no driver will be notified or assigned to complete it. You can assign a driver at any time by editing the collection.
