Cancelling a Season Ticket

End a season ticket early by recording a cancellation reason and date.

1. Open the season ticket
2. Click Cancel
3. Enter reason
4. Confirm cancellation

1. When to cancel a season ticket

Cancel a season ticket when the arrangement between the transferor and transferee has ended before the ticket's expiry date. Common reasons include a change of waste contractor, a site closure, or a contract termination. Cancelling records the reason and date for audit purposes while preserving the note history.

2. How to cancel

Open the season ticket you want to cancel and click the "Cancel" button in the top bar. A confirmation dialog appears asking you to provide a cancellation reason. Type a clear explanation of why the ticket is being cancelled — this field is required. Click "Confirm" to complete the cancellation.

3. What happens after cancellation

The season ticket status changes to "Cancelled" and the cancellation date and reason are recorded permanently. The note remains visible in your note history for audit and compliance purposes — it is not deleted. No further collections or transfers can be logged against a cancelled season ticket. You will be redirected back to the notes list after confirming.

Cancellation is permanent
Once a season ticket is cancelled, it cannot be reactivated. If the arrangement resumes, you will need to create a new season ticket. Make sure you are cancelling the correct note before confirming.
History is preserved
Cancelled season tickets and all their associated transfer history remain in your account for audit purposes. The cancellation reason and date are recorded alongside the original note data.
Common Mistakes
Cancelling a season ticket instead of letting it expire naturally — if the ticket is near its expiry date and no more transfers are planned, you may not need to cancel it.
Providing a vague cancellation reason — write a specific reason (e.g. "Client moved to new premises") so the audit trail is clear.
