Waste Load Library

Save and reuse waste descriptions, EWC codes, and quantities as named "loads" across multiple notes.

What is the Load Library?

The Waste Load Library lets you save a set of Section A fields — waste description, EWC codes, quantity, quantity_estimated flag, and containment type — under a name of your choice. Saved loads appear in a popover when you click "Saved Loads" inside the Section A dialog. Selecting a load instantly fills all the Section A fields with the saved values.

Accessing the Load Library

Inside the Section A dialog, a "Saved Loads" button appears alongside the EWC code picker. Clicking it opens the Waste Load Library popover. The popover shows all your saved loads with their name, description, and EWC codes. Click any load entry to apply it to the current note.

Saving a load

To save the current Section A fields as a new load, open the Saved Loads popover and click "Save current as load" at the bottom of the panel. A dialog prompts you for a load name. Enter a descriptive name and click Save. The load is immediately available in the library.

What is saved in a load

A load stores the following Section A fields: waste description (a1_description), EWC codes (a1_ewc array), container quantity (a3_container_qty), weight in kg (a3_weight_kg), estimated flag (a3_estimated), container type (a2 checkbox values), and container size. Loads do not store party details or transfer information — they are purely Section A waste descriptors.

Deleting a load

Each load in the library popover has a trash icon that appears on hover. Click it to open a confirmation dialog ("Delete X? This cannot be undone."). Confirm to permanently remove the load from your library.

Load Library vs Templates
Use the Load Library when you want to reuse the waste description across notes for different clients. Use Templates when you want to reuse the entire note structure (waste + both parties). They complement each other.
Save before the load library appears
The "Save current as load" button only appears in the popover if you have Section A data currently entered in the note. Fill in at least the description and EWC codes first.
Common Mistakes
Saving a load before entering the EWC codes — the load will be saved without codes and will not be useful.
Creating duplicate loads with slightly different names — clean up the library periodically to keep it manageable.
