Section B — Transferor (Current Holder)

Record the details of the party handing over the waste, including their legal status and registration.

1. Lookups
2. B1 Identity
3. B2 Authority
4. B3 Legal status

1. Deferred transferor

If you do not yet know who the transferor is (for example, a skip delivered to a site that has not yet been identified), tick "Confirm transferor details later". The note will be saved with status "Pending Party" and Section B will remain blank. You must return and fill in Section B before the note can be completed. Note: you cannot defer both the transferor and the transferee at the same time.

Who is the customer?
Section B — Current Holder (Transferor)
Marks the note as Pending Party. Section C (Transferee) must still be filled in.

2. Lookups — auto-fill from registers

Three lookup tools help you auto-fill Section B without typing. "Saved Clients" searches your QWTN client list and fills all B1 and B3 fields from the saved record. "EA Register" searches the Environment Agency public register for waste carriers and permit holders, auto-filling name, address, carrier registration, and permit details. "Companies House" searches the UK company register and fills the company name and address.

3. B1 — Transferor identity

Fill in the full name, company name and address, and postcode of the transferor. The full name is required. The company address field accepts multi-line text (company name on the first line, followed by address lines).

Use EA Register lookup
If the transferor is a registered waste carrier, search the EA Register lookup to auto-fill their carrier registration number, address, and permit details. This saves time and reduces the chance of transcription errors.
Deferred party status
Deferring the transferor creates a note in "Pending Party" status. The note remains in this state on the dashboard and note list until you return and fill in Section B.
Common Mistakes
Leaving B3 blank — legally the note should record the transferor's relationship to the waste.
Not entering the carrier registration number when the transferor is a registered carrier.
Deferring the transferor when you could use EA Register lookup — the lookup takes seconds and produces a fully populated Section B.
