Transfer Types

Choose between Collection (Stored) and Deposit (Direct) to control which section gets auto-filled with your company details.

Collection (Stored)

Select "Collection (Stored)" when your company is collecting waste from a customer. In this scenario, your company is the Transferee — the person receiving the waste. QWTN auto-fills your company name, address, postcode, and carrier registration into Section C (Person Collecting / Transferee) and clears Section B so you can enter the customer's details manually. Section D (transfer address and date) is hidden because the waste is being stored or transported rather than immediately deposited at a named site.

Deposit (Direct)

Select "Deposit (Direct)" when your company is depositing waste at a transfer station, tip, or licensed facility. In this scenario, your company is the Transferor — the current holder handing over the waste. QWTN auto-fills your company details into Section B (Current Holder / Transferor) and clears Section C so you can enter the destination site. Section D is shown so you can record the transfer address, date, and time.

Changing the transfer type

The TransferFlowSelector is at the very top of the note editor, above the section cards. You can change the transfer type at any time, but doing so will re-run the auto-fill logic: your profile details will move to the correct section and the opposite section will be cleared. Change the type before filling in the other party's details to avoid losing data.

Effect on Section D

For Collection (Stored) notes, Section D is hidden entirely — it does not appear in the section list and does not need to be completed. For Deposit (Direct) notes, Section D is required: the transfer address must be filled in for the note to be completable.

Auto-fill logic
Changing the transfer type triggers a profile fetch and re-fills the correct section. Your company name, address, postcode, and carrier reg are filled automatically — only the other party needs to be entered.
Not sure which to pick?
Ask yourself: "Am I collecting waste from a customer, or depositing waste at a site?" Collecting = Section C auto-filled (Transferee). Depositing = Section B auto-filled (Transferor).
Common Mistakes
Selecting "Deposit (Direct)" when you are collecting — this fills the wrong section with your details and leaves Section D visible when it is not needed.
Changing the transfer type after filling Section B or C manually — the auto-fill will overwrite the section you already completed.
